【意味】［学名］Cyllene属のアナグラムによる置換名。Cylleneはギリシア神話に出てくるニンフで，アルカディア王リュカーオーンの母。
原記載註で，Cyllene Walker, 1854について「先だってNewman氏によって鞘翅目に用いられている」。ここで言及されているのはクワガタムシであるCyllene spinifera Newman, 1840（現Megacyllene属）。

【意味】［地名］Dharma（ダルマ。仏教では「法」と訳すことが多い）から。
採集地の一つがインド北部の都市であるダラムシャーラー Dharamsalaであることに由来。
日本の屋久島以北亜種はL. d. butleri (Leech, [1889])。大英博物館学芸員の Arthur Gardiner Butler への献名。
